πͺTerms and Conditions for One-on-One Abacus Mental Maths Lessons:πͺ
1. Lesson Format and Duration:
π Abacus mental maths lessons are structured in rounds, with each round consisting of 8 lessons.
π Each lesson has a duration of 30-40 minutes, tailored to optimize learning and engagement.
2. Lesson Cancellations by Students:
π Students must provide at least one hour notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled lesson.
π Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a charge equivalent to the cost of the lesson.
3. Lesson Cancellations by Teacher:
π If the teacher is unable to conduct a scheduled lesson, no charges will be applied to the student.
π The teacher will try to arrange another lesson at a time that works for both the student and the teacher.
4. Teacher’s Online Attendance Policy:
π The teacher will join the lesson at the scheduled time and wait for 15 minutes if the student is not present.
π If the student does not attend within this time, the teacher will leave the session, and the lesson will be considered completed and charged accordingly.
5. Lesson Schedule:
π Lessons will be conducted at times and days mutually agreed upon.
π It is suggested to have 2-3 lessons per week.
π Abacus Mental Maths lessons are conducted online.
6. Payment and Fees:
π Payment for each round of 8 lessons is due in advance.
π There is no refund for lessons once they have been paid for.
π Refunds are available in the event that the teacher encounters a significant emergency or unforeseen circumstance that prevents them from continuing with the lessons as scheduled.
7. Rescheduling:
π Lessons can be rescheduled based on mutual agreement and availability of both student and teacher.
8. Feedback:
π Feedback on lesson content, teaching methods, and student progress is welcome and valued.
πͺTo ensure the best possible learning experience, students and their guardians should adhere to the following guidelines:πͺ
1. Stable Internet Connection:
π Ensure a reliable and high-speed internet connection to avoid disruptions during the lesson.
2. Camera Usage:
π Keep the camera on during the lesson. This allows the teacher to monitor engagement and provide better support.
π Face Visibility: If the child does not want to show their face, that’s fine. However, the camera should still be on and positioned so that the teacher can see the abacus and the child’s hands while using it during the lesson.
3. Audio Setup:
π Use a quiet environment to minimize background noise. If necessary, use headphones to enhance audio quality and focus.
4. Learning Environment:
π Choose a suitable learning space that is quiet, free from distractions, and conducive to studying. Avoid studying in noisy areas or places associated with leisure, like the bed or couch.
5. Active Participation:
π Be attentive and actively participate in the lesson. Avoid multitasking or engaging in other activities, such as eating or using other devices, during class time.
π Kids may use the Zoom chat box for answering and asking questions when the teacher requests.
π Complete all assigned homework, Kahoot quizzes, or mock tests.
π Send the teacher evidence (WhatsApp, E-mail) that the homework or assignments have been completed.
6. Punctuality:
π Log in to the lesson on time. Arriving late can disrupt the flow of the class and result in missing important information.
7. Preparedness:
π Have all necessary materials ready before the lesson begins, including the abacus tool, abacus worksheets, notebooks, pens, and any assigned homework.
8. Behaviour and Etiquette:
π Maintain a respectful and polite attitude towards the teacher and classmates. Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.
9. Technical Issues:
π Inform the teacher immediately if you encounter any technical issues during the lesson. Efforts will be made to address and resolve these problems promptly.
10. Staying for the Entire Lesson:
π Stay for the entire duration of the lesson. Do not leave the Zoom session before it ends unless itβs necessary and prearranged with the teacher.
11. Feedback and Communication:
π Encourage students to provide feedback on the lesson content, teaching methods, and overall learning experience. This feedback can be shared directly with the teacher through email or other communication channels.
12. Parental Support:
π Parents or guardians should ensure the child follows these guidelines and provide support when needed to facilitate a smooth learning experience.
